Currently, Serra is a seventh-grade English teacher in Southern California. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Arizona. After struggling a bit to find the right career, she decided to pursue a teaching credential. Working was a necessity, so she explored her options and an online education seemed to be the best fit. It is possible to do the coursework at one’s convenience and save valuable time by eliminating the need to attend a class at a specific time. Serra graduated in two year’s time, earning both her single-subject teaching credential and her master’s degree in education. She recommends the online university experience.

During her time at Orange Coast College, she participated in both online and campus learning. The flexibility of this hybrid education is how she finished her general education and psychology studies while still maintaining her full-time occupation. She recommends college to anyone and believes online education is especially valuable to people with hectic schedules that demand flexibility. She is a particular advocate of hybrid learning, combining the online and campus experience to achieve a quality education.
